Damage to the joints can include, if severe enough, a narrowing or mis-shaping of the joint space, giving rise to neuropathic problems. A common condition since the electric typewriter and computer keyboard is
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Types of arthritis in children and adolescents can be varied and more widespread than is generally accepted. Visit the Pediatric Rheumatology Home Page.
Treatment
Most treatment regimes involve medication, exercise, and self-help techniques.
If arthritis symptoms are severe, a general physician will usually refer his/her patient to a rheumatologist, a specialist in arthritis. Do not hesitate to ask for a referral if the symptoms are severe enough. Become an equal partner in your treatment, remember, you must take it home and learn to live with it. This is where the arthritis self-management program becomes a valuable tool, not only for those with arthritis but also for those who are care-givers such as husbands, wives, children, and professionals.

THERE IS NO ARTHRITIS DIET, just proper nutrition for optimum health.THERE IS NO MAGIC BULLET. The promises made are usually FOR SALE.IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN IT PROBABLY IS. After all, they may be more interested in your money than in your problem. If a cure is found rest assured that it will make HEADLINES in all major REPUTABLE newspapers around the world. If in doubt, contact someone like myself via e-mail or phone the Arthritis Society/Foundation in your region. The main focus on research of arthritis at the moment is on rheumatoid arthritis. If the exact causes are found (perhaps genetic), such as the gene marker HLA B27 for Ankylosing Spondylitis and Reiter's, it would appear that inflamatory arthritis may be wiped out in one blow. Inflamatory types number about 50% of all the types known. You can update yourself by visiting.... Focus On.... Rheumatoid Arthritis
