If a cure is found rest assured that it will make HEADLINES in all major REPUTABLE newspapers around the world.

If in doubt, contact someone like myself via e-mail or phone the Arthritis Society/Foundation in your region.

The main focus on research of arthritis at the moment is on rheumatoid arthritis. If the exact causes are found (perhaps genetic), such as the gene marker HLA B27 for Ankylosing Spondylitis and Reiter's, it would appear that inflamatory arthritis may be wiped out in one blow. Inflamatory types number about 50% of all the types known. You can update yourself by visiting....

RESEARCH UPDATEthe combining of methotrexate and cyclosporin is under study headed by Dr. Peter Tugwell of the University of Ottawa (published in the New England Journal of Medicine). Results suggest that combining the two medications may be of benefit to some patients with RA because it seems to fight inflamation much more effectively and faster. Further long-term study will be necessary. This is a reflection of the excellent arthritis research underway in Canada. At present there are ten research projects in British Columbia alone, with funds from the Arthritis Society and of course donations by the Public.

    Quotables:

Whether I like it or not, I am stuck with myself.
Wherever I go I must take myself along, which spoils everything.
I've been depressed for such a long time that I've forgotton why.
Trying to cope with depression for so long has become second nature. But at this point I guess it doesn't matter anymore why I am depressed.
I do remember that when I was a child that my cow died.
Actually I think I am more depressed about being depressed.
