I heard a long time ago that if you wanted to grow your own dope you should plant a man. I am sure that some ladies would agree. Do they know something I don't? Planting Your Spouse ![]() Speaking of planting other items in a garden, I have traditionally planted my pets after their demise. I am not being gruesome here, for memories are made of these. My previous two dogs lived for 17 years and passed naturally, so I planted them and overtop planted a bush or shrub. When I tend my garden it reminds me of my babies. I have a shamrock which was passed on to me after my nephew's death in 1976 which blooms year after year in my window. I have plants which remind me of my kids, graduations, deaths, divorces, weddings, (not in that order hehehe) etc. These are as important as photographs, and are living reminders. After all, life goes on. One of my friends got a little muddled on an anniversary and thought he would give the ultimate gift having to do with plants.. a sack of manure to his wife. He flatly stated that she could now grow her own roses to rival the ones he could have purchased for 60 bucks a dozen. He spent S7.95 on the steer manure with enough left over for a pizza and a couple of cases of beer. (They are not married anymore, she got the house, the car, the garden and the manure, he got the beer). ![]() |
