Arthritis Self-Management Program
The Arthritis Self-Management Program is widely available across North America and some other parts of the globe. It has been translated into several languages to accommodate our diverse ethnic makeup, including a culturally appropriate Native program.
For more information contact the Arthritis Society (BC & Yukon)'s free information service at 1-800-667-ATIS weekdays between 10am and 4pm. This line is staffed by volunteers.
ASMP - The Arthritis Self-Management Program enhances professional care. Workshops revolve around pain management, nutrition, activeness, wise use of the joints (joint mechanics), communication, problem solving, myths, non-traditional treatments (alternatives treatments), relaxation techniques and support.
The program is held over six weeks, one 2-hour session per week and is guided by volunteers, non-professional leaders who have arthritis.

THERE IS NO ARTHRITIS DIET, just proper nutrition for optimum health.THERE IS NO MAGIC BULLET. The promises made are usually FOR SALE.IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN IT PROBABLY IS. After all, they may be more interested in your money than in your problem. If a cure is found rest assured that it will make HEADLINES in all major REPUTABLE newspapers around the world. If in doubt, contact someone like myself via e-mail or phone the Arthritis Society/Foundation in your region. The main focus on research of arthritis at the moment is on rheumatoid arthritis. If the exact causes are found (perhaps genetic), such as the gene marker HLA B27 for Ankylosing Spondylitis and Reiter's, it would appear that inflamatory arthritis may be wiped out in one blow. Inflamatory types number about 50% of all the types known.

Because of the many emails I get on a daily basis from everyone with questions on arthritis and treatments I will reply personally but it may take awhile. This is purely a volunteer effort on my part. I will also at times hang out on the discussion board and put in my opinions.
